HAPPY HALF-BIRTHDAY, HENRY!

Today we celebrated Henry's half-birthday!  Henry's mom read some chapters from one of Henry's favorite "Captain Underpants" stories.  We then enjoyed eating homemade banana muffins which Henry helped to make.  Happy Half-Birthday, Henry!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAGGIE!

Today we celebrated Maggie's birthday!  Maggie's mom read the story, The Bora Bora Dress.  Then, we enjoyed eating star-shaped Rice Krispie treats and strawberries for snack.  Happy Birthday, Maggie!

HOLIDAY LIGHTS/CANDLES

Today we discussed the many ways we use candles.  The children came up with great ideas including:  at Halloween in your jack-o-lantern; at Christmas; at Hanukkah; on birthday cakes; when your lights go out; at Kwanzaa.  One child even mentioned that candles were used a long time ago before anyone invented electricity!  Mrs. Spolter then shared a story about Hanukkah and why Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah for 8 nights.  She shared 2 menorahs that her family uses and the blessings which are said when the menorah is lit.  We will share other ways holidays (particularly those in December) use candles and lights for their celebrations.

MORE FREE CHOICE FUN!

 ~Dinosaur Dig~
Tommy put together the bones discovered and found in the "dinosaur dig" in the sensory tub.
 ~Dice Activity~
To do this activity, children take 2 dice and roll them.  They add together the number of dots in the dice and then record it on their sheet of paper.
