CHICKS VISIT PRE-K A


A friend of Mrs. Spolter's brought in some young baby chicks to visit. The children enjoyed watching, holding, and petting these tiny creatures.










HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELEANOR!

Today we helped Eleanor celebrate her birthday. Her mom read a funny story called, "Moira's Birhtday". Then we enjoyed homemade chocolate chip cookies for snack. Happy Birthday, Eleanor!

FALL ARRIVES!

Today was the first official day of Fall. We read a story about the changes which occur in the Fall. And, we changed Friendly Frog's outfit to get him ready for the Fall weather!

STAR OF THE WEEK~MRS. SPOLTER

Today we introduced our "Star of the Week" activity. Mrs. Spolter was the first "Star of the Week". The "Star of the Week" gets to share photos and some of his/her favorite things with the class. The photos are displayed for a week.


IF MARY'S LAMB CAME TO OUR SCHOOL...

We recited the nursery rhyme, "Mary Had A Little Lamb" again today. We talked about the lamb's fleece being as white as snow and the children came up with other ideas as to the fleece being as white as....clouds; popcorn; ice cubes; etc. We also asked the children where they thought Mary lived with answers including: the country, on a farm, in the zoo, etc. Finally, each child drew a picture and shared an idea about what he/she thought would happen, "If Mary's Lamb Came To Our School". We will compile these pictures into a class book. Listed below are the children's ideas.....

In the photos below, children are graphing their own set of M&M's to find out how many of each color they have. Be sure to have your child share his/her graph and ask them the following questions:
~Which color had the most?
~Which color had the least?
~Were there any colors that were equal?






ZERO THE HERO DAY!

Today we had our 20th day of school and we enjoyed celebrating another Zero the Hero day. We made Fall frisbees, provided by Alaina and her mom. Thanks for a fun project!
