Last Friday and this past Monday, Pre-K children visited Mr. Cicetti in the Art room for a special art lesson and activity. On Friday, the children watched a video about author/illustrator Eric Carle and how he creates illustrations for his children's books. On Monday, children used painting and printing techniques similar to what Eric Carle would use. Next week, the children will cut their paintings/prints into flower shapes to recreate the painting in the photo below. The painting is from a page in the Eric Carle story, Draw Me A Star. The finished "painting" will be mounted and is Pre-K's "Masterworks Piece" for the upcoming Columbus Academy Spring Gala in April. You can buy raffle tickets to win this artwork piece. The drawing will take place at The Spring Gala in April.
