"HICKORY, DICKORY DOCK"

Today we recited the nursery rhyme, "Hickory Dickory Dock".  We identified the rhyming words we heard and also came up with ideas about why the mouse ran up the clock and then ran down the clock after the clock struck one.  Here were some of the ideas....

The mouse ran up the clock because...

...he saw a piece of cheese.

...he wanted to find out what time it was.

The mouse ran down the clock because...

...it was bedtime.

...it was time for lunch.

...it was time for a snack.

...he was scared when the clock made noise when it struck one.
