PUMPKIN, PUMPKIN

Yesterday we read the story, Pumpkin, Pumpkin.  Following the story, we passed around a pumpkin and asked the children to describe the outside of the pumpkin to us.  These are the ideas they came up with....
The pumpkin is....cold; very heavy; kind of small; bumpy and smooth; really heavy; really hard; smells like air; feels smooth; and feels heavy and cold.

Today, we reviewed our "Weekly Reader" and then cut open the pumpkin to look, see, and smell the inside of the pumpkin.

Here is how the children described the inside of the pumpkin...
The pumpkin...is full of seeds; feels goopy; is wet and slippery; looks and smells yucky; is cold and goopy; feels super soft and gooey; looks like orange spaghetti with seeds; looks like orange vines with seeds; feels slippery; has seeds.
